When you successfully pass your driving test, complete 'Pass Plus' and you will usually qualify for a substantial discount on your motor insurance. 'Pass Plus' is backed by car insurance companies, Central Government, and the DSA, and is designed to help newly qualified drivers become better drivers. A 'Pass Plus' course consists of six specially designed driver training sessions covering in town, rural and motorway driving as well as driving at night and in varying weather conditions. There is no test to pass - achievement is by assessment and should be taken within a year of passing the test. The certificate is then valid for 2 years. Most motor insurers support the scheme and could give you a substantial discount.
